About Headwaters
Headwaters sits at an elevation of 1250 metres (4100 feet), offering a cool respite from the valley below. The floating islands on Headwaters Lake move gently with the breeze, creating a unique and peaceful scene. Wildlife like deer, moose, beavers, and otters often make appearances, and birds like loons, swallows, and hummingbirds are regular visitors.
The Headwaters Lodge operates a small seasonal store selling fishing supplies, groceries, and snacks. Boats are available for rent, with a limited number of aluminum boats equipped with motors. To ensure availability, please request a motor when making your reservation. Headwaters is a family-oriented camp. They maintain a quiet atmosphere with no loud parties or music allowed.
History
In the 1920s, Headwaters was just a small trappers cabin. Over time, it evolved into a fishing camp with more cabins added by the Farrel family for their friends. The Bockstatt family from Switzerland took over in the early 90s, refurbishing the cabins and adding more features. In 2000, the Woodfield family managed Headwaters until 2004, when Donna and Bruce Jackson realized their dream of owning it. Now, Ed and Vicki Smith welcome you to experience the charm and tranquillity of Headwaters.
