Peachland Art Gallery: 2024 Exhibition Schedule
Artists of the Okanagan
Dates: January 6th – January 21st
Kick off the year with "Artists of the Okanagan." This popular exhibition is back, featuring a variety of works from local artists. You'll see everything from oils and watercolours to glass sculptures. The exhibit showcases talent like Marlene McPherson, Nancy Dearborn, and Susan Priest. It’s a chance to see the local artistic flair and perhaps find a piece that speaks to you.
Captured Images
Dates: March 9th – April 14th
If photography is more your style, don't miss "Captured Images." This exhibition, now in its tenth year, is one of the largest and longest-running photography shows in the Okanagan. Featuring 36 fine art photographers and 70 works, it's a visual feast. Some photographers will be present, eager to discuss their work.
Interpretations
Dates: April 20th – May 19th
The "On The Edge Collective" brings you "Interpretations," a unique mix of urban, organic, moody, and bodacious themes. Artists Elaine Hatch, Lisa Hewitt, Audrey Krol, Debby Merkel, and Allanah Weston offer a range of works that explore memories and the intersection of different artistic styles. This exhibition promises a rich and varied viewing experience.
A Brush with History
Dates: May 25th – June 23rd
"A Brush with History" presents European-inspired art that connects tradition with modernity. Featuring Kathy Hale, Barb Hanington, and Kato Rempel, this show opens on May 25th from 1 PM to 3 PM. Meet the artists and see how they creatively blend past and present in their works.
11th Annual Oasis Exhibition
Dates: June 29th – July 28th
The Federation of Canadian Artists (Central Okanagan Chapter) presents the "Oasis" exhibition. With 50 member artists displaying works in all mediums, this annual event is a highlight of the summer art season. It’s a great opportunity to see a broad spectrum of artistic expression.
Artists in Studio
Dates: July 30th – August 25th
Throughout August, the gallery will host "Artists in Studio," featuring 20 local artists working and displaying their creations in real-time. Robin Taylor's works will also be highlighted, offering a dynamic and interactive experience for visitors.
Transitions
Dates: August 31st – October 6th
The Kelowna Painters Society presents "Transitions," an exhibition that showcases the diversity and innovative spirit of the area. Each member brings fresh ideas and concepts, reflecting the fearless creativity of the society's artists.
snʼkʼlip and yútəlx – Coyote and Raven
Dates: October 12th – November 17th
Rounding out the year is "snʼkʼlip and yútəlx – Coyote and Raven," featuring drawings and paintings by Jim Elwood and Coralee Miller. This exhibition celebrates Trickster figures in art, providing a fascinating look at these mythical characters.
Peachland Art Gallery Open Mic Events
Every few months, Peachland Art Gallery hosts open mic events that are a hit with both locals and visitors. These evenings are a showcase for a range of talents, from piano and guitar performances to spoken word, ukulele, singing, and even magic acts. Sometimes the events are themed, featuring jazz or other genres, while other times they are completely open mic, allowing for a diverse mix of performances. It’s a lively and engaging experience, perfect for a night out with family or friends. Entry is $7 for adults and $3 for kids, making it an affordable way to enjoy the local talent and community spirit.
